Part-Time Mine Monitor Technician

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Must be able to work extended shifts on Saturday and Sunday.  Maintain constant, detailed, and accurate communications and information flow with all mining personnel during the work shift.  This position is essential to ensure a safe work environment.  Primary responsibilities are listed below:

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Monitor and control all equipment and systems associated with the mine monitoring system
• Issue equipment and maintain appropriate records
• Keep records of all alarms and corrective measures
• Ability to respond to detailed MSHA questions
• Ability to implement the Emergency Response Plan if necessary
• Ensure and maintain the vital communication links between all underground and surface personnel
• Track location of all personnel underground 24/7
• Monitor the functioning of the conveyor belt systems
• Prepare reports as required
• Maintain, clean, and make minor repairs to communication equipment
• Ensure that batteries are available and charged for all necessary equipment

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Education and training beyond high school
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Suite or Office with strong preference for Excel proficiency)
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to simultaneously handle multiple activities
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Must be customer focused
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
